Marty brings a wealth of knowledge to CDI in the area of construction management, engineering, real estate law, mergers & acquisitions and risk management.
His 41 year career includes positions of CEO and President of a $120 million/year construction company and an $85 million/year construction materials supplier. He is still a major shareholder of the construction material supplier which operates in 10 states in the Midwest. He worked for a major Wall Street commodity trading firm in New York in the 1990s learning the value of appropriate risk management practices. Marty has served as a construction arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association since 1985.
Marty is both a Professional Engineer and Licensed Attorney in the State of Ohio. He received his BS in Civil Engineering from the University of California at Davis in 1973 and his Juris Doctor (Cum Laude) from Cleveland - Marshall College of Law in 1985.
Dan has over eight years of commercial real estate experience and has spent the last six years at DDR Corp., one of the largest retail power center REITs in the US. Dan’s experience spans over various disciplines within the industry, where he held positions sourcing debt, acquiring and selling properties, and handling the company’s outparcel leasing and land sale program across their entire portfolio.
In his time working in a transactional capacity, Dan solely handled DDR’s NNN asset disposition program for approximately two years. In that role he established and maintained broker relationships in the NNN lease arena, ran parallel paths with brokers assigned to each deal to diligently analyze and market each asset, controlled the buyer selection process, negotiated term sheets and Purchase and Sale Contracts, and saw each deal from escrow through closing.
For the past two years, Dan was one of two people in charge of outparcel leasing and peripheral land sales for the company. In that role, he worked directly with restaurant and retail tenants regarding land sales, ground leases, re-tenanting existing buildings and leasing new ground-up development. Dan received his Bachelors in Business Administration from Ohio University in 2007. He has been an ICSC member since 2011.
Eric has over 15 years of experience in the financial industry, mainly in equity research. Eric spent seven years as an equity research sales trader (1999-2006) at FTN Midwest Research, a nationally recognized independent research firm.
In 2006, Eric became one of the original partners of Cleveland Research Company and served in an institutional sales capacity through 2013. Over the eight years Eric spent there, the firm became one of the top independent research resources for the country’s 150 largest Mutual Funds and Hedge Funds. Eric received his BS in Business from Miami University in 1999 and is Series 7 licensed.
